White Dental Fillings
If you need a filling, why not have it match your beautiful smile?
Patients used to tell us that they didn’t like the silver fillings. And for decades, amalgam or silver fillings were the only option for treating teeth that had suffered decay. Thankfully today, you have a better option!
When a tooth develops a cavity, the decay will need to be removed and the tooth re-filled in order to preserve dental health and function. Tooth-colored fillings, which are generally made of composite resin, are designed to closely match the natural color of your tooth.
They are durable and fracture resistant and can be used to fill small to mid-sized cavities or areas of damage. Because they are so natural looking, tooth-colored fillings can be used to treat decay on both front and back teeth.
Permanent Porcelain Bridges
Are you missing teeth, concerned about teeth drifting out of position, or looking to upgrade a partial denture?
If so, then a dental bridge may be a great option. A dental bridge is a fixed (non-removable) appliance and is an excellent way to replace missing teeth.
There are several types of bridges. You and your dentist will discuss the best options for your particular case. The “traditional bridge” is the most popular type and is usually made of porcelain fused to metal. The bridges we provide are 100% porcelain. This type of bridge consists of two crowns that go over two anchoring teeth (abutment teeth) and are attached to pontics (artificial teeth), filling the gap created by one or more missing teeth. Dental bridges are highly durable and will last many years, however they may need replacement or need to be re-cemented due to normal wear.
Reasons for a fixed bridge: Fill space of missing teeth, Maintain facial shape, Prevent remaining teeth from drifting out of position, Restore chewing and speaking ability, Restore your smile, Upgrade from a removable partial denture to a permanent dental bridge.
Do you have a broken/fractured tooth, need a larger filling, or a root canal?
These are just a few reasons you may need a porcelain crown.
A crown (or cap) is a covering that protects the entire tooth surface restoring it to its original size and shape. And the crown protects and strengthens tooth structure that cannot be restored with fillings or other types of restorations.
Crowns are highly durable and will last many years. And our porcelain crowns are made to match the shape, size, and color of your teeth giving you a natural, long-lasting beautiful smile.
Reasons for crowns: Broken or Fractured teeth, Decayed teeth, Fractured fillings, Large fillings, Tooth has had a root canal, Cosmetic improvement. If you have questions about crowns, we are here to help evaluate the best options for you.
If your missing teeth are impacting your ability to chew or even impacting how you speak, dentures or partial dentures may be an option to consider.
A denture is a removable prothesis for replacement of missing teeth and they are made to closely resemble your natural teeth.
There are two types of dentures, complete and partial dentures. Complete dentures are used when all of the teeth are missing, while partial dentures are used when there are some remaining teeth. A partial denture not only fills in the spaces created by missing teeth, it prevents other teeth from shifting. Dentures and partial dentures are very durable appliances and will last many years if properly cared for.
Reasons for Dentures: Loss of all teeth, loss of some teeth, to improve chewing and speech. We are here to help you consider the best options for you individual needs when it comes to dentures and possible alternatives.
Root Canal Therapy
Tooth aches can be more than just a pain. They can become a serious health risk when not treated properly.
A root canal is a treatment used to repair and save a tooth that is badly decayed or becomes infected.
During a root canal procedure, the nerve and pulp are removed and the inside of the tooth is cleaned and sealed. Without treatment, the tissue surrounding the tooth will become infected and abscesses may form. When a tooth’s nerve tissue or pulp is damaged, it breaks down and bacteria begin to multiply within the pulp chamber. The bacteria and other decayed debris can cause an infection or abscessed tooth. An abscess is a pus-filled pocket that forms at the end of the roots of the tooth. An abscess occurs when the infection spreads all the way past the ends of the roots of the tooth. This infection can cause swelling that may spread to other areas of the face, neck or head.
If you are concerned about tooth pain, pain that has come and gone, swelling, or risk of infection, it’s important that you contact our office as soon as possible so that we can help you avoid further complications.
